On the morning of April 19, 2026, nearly 1,500 contestants nationwide entered the National Qualifying Round of the 2026 World Office Informatics Championship (MOS World Championship 2026). The competition continues to attract a large number of students thanks to standardizing digital skills according to international standards and integrating AI content.
Implemented in Vietnam since 2010, MOS World Championship has entered its 17th consecutive season with increasingly expanding scale and strong spread in the student community.

This year's competition continues to include content related to artificial intelligence (AI) in the exam. The integration of AI is not only aimed at updating technology trends, but also towards developing comprehensive digital competence for learners such as proficient use of digital tools, work processing thinking and the ability to apply AI effectively in learning and work. This is also a practical direction to nurture young human resources with digital competence and adaptability to the new requirements of the times.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation - emphasized: "In the current context, science, technology, innovation and digital transformation are not only trends, but have become the main driving force, core foundation and inevitable path for Vietnam to break through and rise up as affirmed by the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress. At the same time, human development, especially the young generation, is the center and subject of the development process. This poses a very specific requirement: It is necessary to build a generation of young people with knowledge, skills, digital thinking, creative capacity and high adaptability in the global environment.
This is not only a long-term goal, but an urgent task, decisive for the future development of the country.

Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam affirmed that organizing playgrounds like the MOS World Championship is a practical solution to improve digital capacity, arouse creative thinking and prepare high-quality young human resources for the country in the new era.
That effectiveness is also reflected in the impressive international achievements of the Vietnamese National Team. To date, Vietnam has won 24 world medals, including 5 World Cups. In the 2025 season alone, Vietnam excellently entered the top 5 strongest teams in the world.
At the ceremony, Ms. Doan Nguyen Van Khanh - CEO of IIG Vietnam, the co-organizer of the competition - said: "MOS World Championship is not only a digital skills playground, but also creates an environment to help students test their abilities, form technology application thinking in learning and work. These are important factors for young people to gradually adapt to the requirements of a modern learning and working environment".

In 2026, the competition will continue to be organized nationwide with two national-level rounds including the National Qualifying Round and the National Final Round. Contestants compete in 6 categories: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (2019 version and Microsoft 365 Apps), in three regions: Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the end of the national rounds, the 6 most outstanding contestants will represent Vietnam to participate in the World Finals in the United States, competing with contestants from nearly 100 countries and territories.
