Parents' representative board accused of overcharging, Gia Lai Chairman directs handling
After Lao Dong Newspaper's reflection on the Parents' Representative Board (BDDPH) being accused of overcharging, the Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee directed Quy Nhon Nam Ward People's Committee to inspect, verify and handle the case, requesting to report the results before January 20. At the same time, Gia Lai Department of Education and Training also issued a document directing the entire sector to rectify the situation of overcharging in schools.
The Department of Education and Training emphasized that sponsorship mobilizations must be implemented in accordance with Circular 16/2018 of the Ministry of Education and Training and strictly prohibit taking advantage of the name BDDPH to collect illegal fees according to Circular 55/2011. Previously, the BDDPH of Nguyen Van Cu Elementary School mobilized more than 457 million VND to make roofs and clean up, in the total plan of 624 million VND, causing frustration among parents.

Through verification, the BDDPH admitted that the 2x class principal did not properly mobilize the spirit of voluntariness when dividing the contribution level equally, so they agreed to return the entire amount of this class. The school principal said that he had requested the BDDPH to explain clearly to the parents and report to superiors, and at the same time temporarily suspend the receipt of all sponsorships to clarify the entire case. Abandoned library, Hue University leaders must take responsibility
The Library of Hue University of Economics - Hue University, a project worth 48 billion VND, although it was inaugurated less than a year ago, has deteriorated, closed doors, and a deserted campus. This situation clearly reflects budget waste and offensive images in public asset management, when a project with intellectual significance is abandoned.

The reason given is that the project has not been officially handed over from Hue University to the University of Economics. However, this reason cannot justify letting the library be "shelved", not used, not maintained, while the learning needs of students exist and the project is increasingly degraded.
The core issue is not only technical procedures, but the responsibility for managing and using public assets effectively. It is necessary to review and clarify the responsibilities of relevant parties, determine the reasons for the slow handover and early commissioning of the library, to avoid prolonged waste and eroding trust in public investment management.
