2.3 million preschool and high school students in Hanoi are off school
Due to the impact of heavy rain and difficult traffic conditions, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training decided to let nearly 2.3 million preschool and primary school students stay home from school on October 1 to ensure safety. Schools are encouraged to organize online teaching and strictly implement the Department's instructions.
The Department requires schools to prepare a "4 on-site" storm prevention plan, check trees, relocate assets, and coordinate with parents and authorities to ensure the safety of students, especially those in boarding schools. Students who cannot go to class due to flooding will be organized with appropriate forms of learning, along with cleaning and treatment after storms. See more...
Warning about high school students in Hanoi violating traffic laws
The situation of students in Hanoi driving motorbikes and electric bicycles violating traffic laws such as not wearing helmets, carrying more people, speeding, and weaving is still common, posing a high risk of accidents. Many students are not old enough to drive according to regulations but still use large-displacement motorbikes, even parents give them help by letting their children drive illegally.
The traffic police force regularly inspects and handles violations, but the situation has not been completely resolved due to students' lack of awareness, parents' acceptance of violations and the school's failure to take strict measures. Students often find ways to avoid checking by parking outside the school or circumventing the law.

To ensure traffic safety, close coordination is needed between families, schools and local authorities in educating, supervising and handling violations. Parents should not give their children underage vehicles and those who do not have a driver's license, and at the same time, there must be measures to strictly handle students and vehicle parking lots to assist violations to minimize traffic accidents in students.
