The rate of registration for foreign language exam exemption in the 2026 high school graduation exam decreased sharply
According to data on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), as of 5 pm on May 3, 2026, the total number of registered candidates reached 1,203.668, becoming one of the years with the highest number of registered candidates ever.
Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) said: "Almost candidates do not encounter difficulties in the registration process. This is also the first year that 100% of candidates, including independent candidates, can register for the exam online.
Among them, candidates currently in 12th grade account for the majority with 1,146,334 students (95.24%), and independent candidates are 57,334 students (4.76%).

Regarding registration forms, there are 1,186,513 candidates registered online (accounting for 98.57%), while 17,158 candidates registered directly (accounting for 1.43%). The number of candidates registered for foreign language exam exemption is 8,065, equivalent to 0.67%.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, this year, the percentage of candidates registering for foreign language exam exemption is low, about 0.66%, this was predicted in advance because most candidates have a need to take the exam directly to use the university admission results. Male student in Ninh Binh ganged up on: Family requests 90 million VND in compensation
On May 3, representatives of the leaders of Ninh Binh Department of Education and Training said that according to report No. 152/BC-THCSCN dated May 1, 2026 of Foreign Specialized Secondary School on students fighting on the way home from school.
Since the incident occurred (April 24, 2026), the school has had 3 working sessions with parents and students involved in the above fight. Initially, the school has identified that the students involved in beating friends include 7 students (all 7th grade, Foreign Specialized Secondary School, Duy Tien ward, Ninh Binh province) and the beaten student is L.V.
