According to data on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), as of 5 pm on May 3, 2026, the total number of registered candidates reached 1,203.668, becoming one of the years with the highest number of registered candidates ever.

Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) said: "Almost candidates do not encounter difficulties in the registration process. This is also the first year that 100% of candidates, including independent candidates, can register for the exam online.
Among them, candidates currently in 12th grade account for the majority with 1,146,334 students (95.24%), and independent candidates are 57,334 students (4.76%).
Regarding registration forms, there are 1,186,513 candidates registered online (accounting for 98.57%), while 17,158 candidates registered directly (accounting for 1.43%). The number of candidates registered for foreign language exam exemption is 8,065, equivalent to 0.67%.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, this year, the percentage of candidates registering for foreign language exam exemption is low, about 0.66%, this was predicted in advance because most candidates have a need to take the exam directly to use the university admission results. The number of candidates registering for foreign language subjects is still maintained at a high level, nearly 350,000 students.
The exam registration system operates stably, almost no candidates encounter any difficulties. In particular, this year 100% of candidates, including freelance candidates, can register online. From now until 5 pm on May 5, candidates can still review and adjust information and exam subjects if errors are detected.
From the present time to the exam date, there is only more than a month left, Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Chuong reminded candidates to pay attention to maintaining their health, allocating reasonable time to effectively review the registered subjects.
Students need to remember that to be eligible for university admission by any method, the total score of three admission subjects needs to be 15 points or higher from the high school graduation exam.
In addition, some majors are expected to have scholarship support policies according to the new draft decree, opening up more opportunities for candidates to choose subject combinations suitable for their favorite majors.
Mr. Chuong advised candidates to stick to the school's review plan, actively participate in mock exams to accumulate experience, and at the same time self-assess and overcome limitations.
Maintaining a confident mentality, avoiding unnecessary pressure, along with mastering the exam regulations will help limit errors and achieve good results in the exam, thereby expanding opportunities for admission to universities and vocational education" - Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Chuong said.
