For enrollment in grade 10 non-specialized public schools, Hanoi implements the entrance exam method with three independent exams including mathematics, literature, and foreign languages. It is estimated that nearly 130,000 candidates registered to take the exam. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training plans to arrange about 250 exam sites with more than 5,400 exam rooms.

Regarding preschool enrollment, grade 1, grade 6, in the new school year, Hanoi is expected to enroll about 94,000 new nurseries and 51,500 kindergarten children; enroll 147,000 students in grade 1 and 161,000 students in grade 6.
This is the first year Hanoi has implemented the method of admission based on the residence of students in communes/wards; continuing to use online admission support software with artificial intelligence applications and GIS digital maps.
Online enrollment time is from July 1 to the end of July 9; direct enrollment is from July 12 to the end of July 18, 2026.
