Information from the People's Committee of Thanh Tin commune, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, at around 1:30 am on September 9, floodwater from the mountains poured down, bringing mud and soil onto the premises of Thanh Tin Ethnic Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.
The boarding house, where more than 300 students live, was deeply submerged in mud, and many properties and items were severely damaged.

The school's Board of Directors and teachers coordinated with Thang Tin Border Guard Station and local authorities to evacuate all students from the danger zone.
Initial statistics show that the flash flood caused 3 concrete embankments in the school grounds to collapse and become unsafe; more than 200 m3 of rock and soil spilled into the classroom area and boarding area.
All the cushions, blankets, clothes, and school supplies and activities of the students were almost completely damaged.

The school has arranged for students to temporarily stay at the headquarters of the People's Committee of the old Thanh Tin commune. The local government has supported the school to purchase additional necessary items. At the same time, mobilize forces to clear mud and soil, overcome the consequences of floods.
The locality is continuing to coordinate with the school to assess the extent of the damage. At the same time, deploy remedial measures to ensure early stabilization of accommodation and learning for students.
