Accordingly, it is expected that in the coming time, the water flow to Phuc Long hydroelectric reservoir will reach about 350-900 m3/s. Therefore, to ensure the safety of lakes, dams, works and ensure the safety of the downstream area of hydropower dams. Phuc Long Hydropower Joint Stock Company plans to release floodwaters from Phuc Long Hydropower Reservoir from 10:30 a.m. on September 9.
Similarly, due to the weather in the upstream area of rain and large water flow to the lake, from 11:00 a.m. on September 9, Dong Sung hydropower plant of Xuan Thien Yen Bai Joint Stock Company also released floodwaters.
The two hydropower companies mentioned above requested the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Lao Cai province; the Lao Cai Provincial Hydrometeorological Center and the People's Committees of Bao Yen, Xuan Hoa, Phuc Khanh, Tan Linh, Khanh Hoa, Xuan Ai, Mau A communes to promptly deploy response work to natural disasters, floods, and inundation according to regulations.
