Regarding the fire that occurred at the parking lot in the T2 pillar area of Vinh Tuy bridge, Hong Ha ward, Hanoi, on September 7, the City Police had information about the initial investigation results.
Accordingly, at around 1:02 p.m. on August 30, after receiving the fire report, PC07 Department dispatched 2 command vehicles and 1 truck; The Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of Area No. 9 dispatched 3 fire trucks and 1 command vehicle; The Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of Area No. 7 dispatched 2 fire trucks; The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team on the River dispatched 1 ambulance and 1 canoe; The Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of Area No. 12 dispatched 1 fire truck and 1 water tank; The Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of Area 1 dispatched 2 fire trucks to the location where the vehicle force coordinated with the Ward Police and the Environment Company to organize fire fighting.
At around 1:30 p.m., the fire was basically under control. By 1:45 p.m., the fire was completely extinguished.
The fire did not cause any human casualties. The fire area is about 300m2, property damage: over 500 motorbikes of all kinds.
Immediately after extinguishing the fire, the CATP Investigation Police Agency took statements from witnesses, reviewed cameras around the parking lot to clarify the time of the fire, cause of the fire, and origin of the fire; requested the Institute of Criminal Science of the Ministry of Public Security to examine the scene, assess the cause of the fire, and the results:
Regarding the cause of the fire, Hanoi City Police ruled out the cause of the fire due to human impact. Currently, the Institute of Criminal Science is conducting an assessment to reach an accurate conclusion on the cause.
Regarding the starting point of the fire, it is 4.3 (m) from the foot of pier T2 and 1.8 (m) from the roadside.
The authorities have seized and sealed the fire products for appraisal, thereby accurately determining the cause of the fire.
Coordinate with the Department of Construction to conduct a preliminary assessment of the impact caused by the fire on the piers and girders of Vinh Tuy Bridge; safety support for vehicles traveling on the bridge; assess the quality of concrete, steel piles... to assess the impact, make recommendations related to the fire.
Conduct statistics and assessments of damaged vehicles and works.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of the City Police is continuing to coordinate with relevant agencies to verify and clarify the cause and damage of the fire as well as the responsibilities of related individuals and organizations.
The city police will continue to inform about the results of the investigation to verify when there is a conclusion.
