After the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, teachers and students of Hoang Mai Star School (Hoang Mai district, Hanoi) organized the "Spring Festival - Building bridge spans".
The program attracted the participation of nearly 5,000 parents and students, aiming to raise funds to build bridges for students in mountainous districts. Thereby, bringing safer and more convenient traffic conditions to local people and especially shortening the distance to school for students in mountainous districts.
Within the framework of the school day, students and parents can also participate in cultural activities, cuisine, handicrafts, pig farming... All donations are used for charity purposes.

Ms. Pham Bich Nga - Founder of Hoang Mai Star School shared that the event is an annual activity, aiming to help students and teachers in remote areas have the opportunity to go to school and study better.
In 2024, the school completed the Tu Doan bridge (Lang Son), helping people on both sides of the river travel conveniently to develop the economy, making it easier for students to go to school.

This year, the school aims to build two bridges in Huu Lung district, Lang Son province. One bridge is a culvert combined with a 50m long, 5.5m wide underpass with a reinforced concrete structure, with an approach road on both sides of the culvert end of 100m long. A bridge combined with a concrete underpass across the Trung River in Minh Tien Commune with a width of 5m and a length of 110m.
"Building bridge spans is an extremely practical activity, helping students and people travel more conveniently" - Ms. Nga said.
Nguyen Dang Kieu Anh, a student of class 4A2, Hoang Mai Star School, feels very happy and proud to have participated and contributed a small part in the project to build bridges for students in disadvantaged areas.
"I witnessed the devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi in 2024, many bridges were destroyed, many in Lang Son and Yen Bai provinces... could not go to school due to the separation of floodwaters, and after the storm ended, landslides still occurred. So if there is a solid bridge, it will be safer for students to go to school" - Kieu Anh shared.
When the school launched charity activities to build bridges for people in the highlands, I and my friends in the class raised pigs, made cakes, sweet soup, painted, made handicrafts... to sell to raise funds to build bridges with the school.
"I hope that these bridges will help you feel more confident when going to school" - the female student said.
According to the school's statistics, the amount of charity money received by 6:00 p.m. on February 21, 2025 through the "Spring Festival of Bridgebuilding" is nearly 3.1 billion VND; the amount of pig farming is more than 100 million VND.
