The Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a time frame for organizing the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year.
Accordingly, from April 20 to April 25, junior high schools will disseminate regulations, instructions on how to register and wish advice to grade 9 students.
grade 9 students will register their wishes from 3:00 p.m. on April 2 to 5:00 p.m. on May 10 through the online system deployed by the Department of Education and Training.
Secondary school graduates in other provinces who wish to take the entrance exam to a specialized high school in the city will submit their applications directly from May 5.5 to May 9.
It is expected that by May 14, the Department will announce the number of students registering for wishes at each school, creating a basis for parents and students to adjust their wishes if necessary.
The adjustment will be made from May 14 to 19, however, only wishes are allowed to be changed, and no additions or withdrawals from the registration list.
The issuance of registration forms will be completed before May 28.
It is expected that before June 5, the list of candidates eligible for direct admission to grade 10 will be announced.
The exam will be officially held on June 6 and 7, 2025. The judging will take place from June 8 to June 25.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City noted that information about exam results, admission benchmarks and review schedules will be announced by the department in a separate document, based on the exam marking progress and actual data processing.
Candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will participate in 3 subjects, including: Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject) and Foreign Language (90 minutes, according to foreign language 1 being studied at school). Candidates who register for a specialized school or integrated class will take an additional exam in a specialized subject or equivalent integrated (150 minutes).
This year, depending on the number of actual records and the needs of the schools, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will consider additional admissions to high schools that still lack many targets.
