Vietnamese students win 6 medals at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad

6/6 Vietnamese students participating in the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad this year all won medals, including 2 gold medals.

The 2 students who won Gold medals are Nguyen Huu Tuan and Nguyen Bui Duc Dung - 12th grade students, High School for Gifted Students (under the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

4 Silver medals this year belong to: Nguyen Khanh Phuc, a 10th grade student, Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted, Ninh Binh province.

Thai Van Gia Kien, a 12th grade student, Ha Tinh Specialized High School, Ha Tinh province.

Dang Huy Hau, an 11th grade student, Thang Long High School for the Gifted, Lam Dong province.

Le Pham Duy Khoa, an 11th grade student, High School for Gifted Students, University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The 20th Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad was held from May 9 to May 10, with the participation of 37 delegations from countries and territories.

This year's competition has 1,043 contestants participating and 187 contestants considered for awards, of which 16 contestants won Gold Medals, 47 Silver Medals and 93 contestants won Bronze Medals.

This year's Vietnamese national team has 15 contestants participating in the domestic competition in the form of online competition at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

In the end, 6 contestants with the highest scores participated in the judging. This result helped Vietnam rank 2nd overall, tied with Japan and behind Russia.

Based on the results, the Ministry of Education and Training said that 4/6 students who won prizes this year will be selected to represent the nation to participate in the International Informatics Olympiad (IOI) in 2026.
