Dong Nai - Floodwaters from the Buong River flooded into Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School, causing more than 1,300 students to stay home from school.

On September 13, more than 1,300 students in grades 7 and 9 at Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School, Phuoc Tan Ward, were off school so that the school could clean up and sanitize the schoolyard, corridor, ground floor classrooms... after floodwaters.

Previously, due to prolonged heavy rain, water from the upper reaches of the Buong River overflowed hundreds of households in Phuoc Tan ward. Floodwaters also flooded Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School, causing the entire classroom and functional rooms on the ground floor, corridors, canteens, and schoolyards to be deeply flooded, with some places being deeply flooded.

According to records, on the morning of September 13, the classrooms had a layer of mud and garbage even though the water had receded.

In the morning, all teachers and staff of the school were mobilized to the school to pump water to wash the schoolyard, clean up, and sweep mud in the school's classrooms.

Students in grades 6 and 8 will be off school on the afternoon of September 13 to ensure safety depending on the situation.
