After more than 2 years of operation, on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, a roadbed erosion and a frog jaw opening appeared at km213+750 (right of the route) in Ham Liem commune, Lam Dong province.

On the morning of September 13, it was noted at the scene that the roadbed was eroded, forming ditches.
It is worth mentioning that the erosion has eaten deep into the roadbed, causing open jaw blades, forming holes and seeing a layer of rock falling onto the roadbed.

This erosion poses a risk to the safety of vehicles running on the expressway. In particular, if it continues to rain heavily and overloaded vehicles pass by, there is a high risk of subsidence of the road surface.
Not only at this location, about 100m away, there are many other locations, the roadbed is also eroded, forming ditches.
There is also another landslide nearby, right at the guardrail at km213+850 and is at risk of spreading and affecting the expressway.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Khac Viet - Director of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway project said that the erosion incident on the route was due to frequent heavy rain in the area.
"From September 12, the unit will coordinate with contractors to review damaged locations on the route and mobilize workers and machinery to fix the damaged locations for about 3 days. Currently, the vehicles are being reviewed at km210" - Mr. Viet added.

The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway is over 100km long, passing through Lam Dong province. This expressway will be open to traffic from May 2023, a section of the North - South expressway in the East. The route has 4 lanes, with a maximum speed of 90 km/h.

In early September, at km215 of this expressway, there were 2 landslides on the slope when heavy rain caused sand and dirt to overflow onto the expressway, causing traffic congestion in the area for many hours.
After that, the local government fixed the problem by building a manhole, temporarily straightening the water flow in another direction, avoiding direct flow onto the road.
