These are two of the 13 multi-level boarding school projects implemented by Son La province in border communes in 2026, with a total investment of more than 500 billion VND.
The projects were completed in a short time, contributing to supplementing educational facilities, creating favorable learning, living and living conditions for students in border areas.

Yen Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School is built on an area of 5 hectares, with a total investment of more than 265 billion VND. The project includes 30 classrooms, department buildings, dormitories, dining halls, swimming pools, sports fields and many auxiliary items, meeting a scale of more than 1,000 students.
In Long Phieng commune, the boarding general education school project was invested with more than 243 billion VND, on an area of more than 4.8 hectares, including 12 main buildings, school buildings, department buildings, dormitories, multi-purpose buildings, dining rooms and auxiliary items.

During the implementation process, construction units mobilized maximum manpower, organized shift work, overcoming weather difficulties to ensure progress. Yen Son School is the earliest completed project among the province's 13 border boarding school projects.

In the 2026-2027 school year, each school has 1,050 students. In which, Yen Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School has 420 primary school students, 630 secondary school students; 1,036 boarding students and 66 administrators, teachers, and staff.
Long Phieng Primary and Secondary Boarding School welcomes students from grades 3 to 9, mainly children of ethnic minorities. The school has completed the school year plan, management regulations, student regulations and regulations on organizing accommodation and boarding activities.


Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet - Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee emphasized that border boarding schools are of great significance to education, human resource development and consolidation of national defense and security. The new schools will create a foundation to improve people's knowledge and human resource quality, contributing to the sustainable development of the border region.
Provincial leaders also requested schools to comprehensively test operate electricity, water, fire prevention and fighting systems, kitchens, teaching equipment, dormitories and ensure sufficient human resources before the opening day.

The inauguration of the two schools before the new school year creates more favorable learning and living conditions, contributing to improving the quality of education and better care for students in the Son La border area.
