Implementing Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT dated December 30, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) regulating extra teaching and learning (hereinafter referred to as Circular 29), the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh province has directed the Departments of Education and Training of districts and cities; high schools and vocational education - continuing education centers (VET-GDTX) in the province to widely disseminate the content of Circular No. 29 to managers, teachers, staff, students and parents.
At the same time, develop a scientific educational plan, in line with the new situation, effectively using human resources, facilities and funding of the school, in which special attention is paid to final year students.
Strengthen professional management, improve the quality of regular school hours, encourage managers, teachers and staff in the spirit of all-for- themselves as beloved students, increase teaching hours outside of regular school hours without collecting fees to supplement knowledge and review for students as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 5, Circular No. 29.
Regarding extra-curricular teaching, the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh province requires the Departments of Education and Training of districts, cities, and schools to strengthen the management of extra-curricular teaching by teachers in accordance with regulations. At the same time, teachers are required to spend time self-study, self-education, and participate in organizing extracurricular activities for students, striving to better complete the tasks assigned by the school.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dinh Van Kham - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh province - said that starting from March 10, all public secondary and high schools in Ninh Binh province will implement 5-day/week main curriculum (from Monday to Friday).
"We also encourage private schools to teach 5 days/week. Luong Van Ty High School for the Gifted is proactively implemented according to its own plan, in line with the school's characteristics in the general spirit of minimizing teaching and learning on Saturdays" - Mr. Kham shared.
According to Mr. Kham, currently, if the organization of extra teaching in schools is not collected, educational institutions face many difficulties because the regular state budget funding only ensures minimum education activities at school units.
To maintain, maintain and continue to improve the quality of education and training in the province, especially maintaining the output results of the high school graduation exam and the 10th grade entrance exam, it is very necessary to organize extra classes in schools for the above-mentioned subjects.
"The Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh province has submitted a proposal to the Provincial People's Committee to support the cost of teaching additional exams for high school graduation in 2025 and entrance exams for grade 10 high school in the 2025-2026 school year with a total amount of nearly 25 billion VND" - Mr. Kham said.
