The small house is located in the alley on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) on these April days that attracts many tourists to visit.
More than 50 years ago, here, the Saigon Ranger dug the tunnel to hide weapons, preparing for the bold battle in the Independence Palace in the 1968 Tet campaign.

In 1966, Mr. Tran Van Lai (alias in the year of Lai, hero of the people's armed forces) bought this house, with an area of only over 35 m2. The house has 2 fronts on 2 alleys located between Phan Dinh Phung streets (now Nguyen Dinh Chieu) and Tran Quy Cap (now Vo Van Tan).

In the excuse to repair the house to dig tunnel, Mr. Nam used his trusted workers to dig tunnels to hide weapons from the suburbs. To avoid being detected, the soil after excavation was put in a carton transferred to the car. Seven months later, the basement was completed. The mouth of the tunnel is located near the stairs, the lid is made of 6 pieces of bricks, 0.4 m x 0.6 m wide, just one person passes through.

From 1966 to 1968, nearly 2 tons of weapons including guns and warheads B40, AK guns, broken, explosive crews, short guns, grenades, bullets of all kinds ... were transferred to the tunnel.

To ensure the secret, the truck carrying weapons from Cu Chi just came to the house at night. In addition to the secret tunnel underground, this house also has a floating tunnel. The tunnel door floating to the roof for the soldiers to escape with a rope.
