In response to the reflection that hundreds of teachers and school staff in Nam Dan district have been charged billions of dong in social insurance (SI) fees, Region VII Social Insurance has issued a document requesting Thanh Chuong - Nam Dan Inter-district Social Insurance to urgently inspect and verify the entire incident.
Accordingly, a working group was established to review the payment of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance for cases re-arranged to salary scale according to Interdisciplinary Guidance No. 884/HDLN dated June 29, 2007. The working group is responsible for comparing the dossier, determining specifically which unit has collected the money, to whom, during which time and reporting immediately if problems arise.
Another important content is to clarify the budget of more than 331 million VND that was mentioned in the working minutes between the professional departments of Nam Dan district and the district Social Insurance on May 15, 2012.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, previously, during the process of reviewing retirement records, Nam Dan District Social Insurance discovered that 315 teachers and employees had not fully paid the insurance difference, with a total amount of more than 4.5 billion VND collected (as of November 2024). By the end of March 2025, the number of people being collected increased to 452 people, mainly contract teachers and administrative staff.
The cause was determined to originate from before 2006, when the People's Committee of Nam Dan district signed labor contracts with teachers and staff at a fixed salary level, and had not fully implemented the social insurance payment regime. The rearrangement of salary levels according to inter-sectoral guidelines has since created a difference in insurance payment.
The People's Committee of Nam Dan district is currently coordinating with the district's professional departments and social insurance to continue reviewing the dossier, clarifying each case to propose appropriate handling, avoiding disadvantages for workers and ensuring transparent and correct implementation of the policy.
