On December 31, speaking with Lao Dong reporter, Ms. Vo Dao Hoa - Principal of Ba Dinh Primary School (Bim Son town, Thanh Hoa province) said that recently, the People's Committee of Bim Son town has decided to discipline teacher Vo Thi Tam with a warning, because she had previously beaten a student in class.
"The disciplinary decision was issued on December 20. Currently, teacher Tam is still doing clerical and office work at the school, unrelated to teaching," said Ms. Hoa.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the family of T.P.N (6 years old, student of class 1B, Ba Dinh Primary School) discovered that their daughter had bruises on her back and unusual scratches on her ear, so they asked. Later, they learned that N had been beaten and had her ear pulled many times by teacher Vo Thi Tam.
After the incident, T.P.N's family and many other parents filed a complaint accusing teacher Tam of beating other students, even though the beatings had been going on since last year.
Next, Ba Dinh Primary School suspended Ms. Tam's teaching work and transferred her to clerical work that had nothing to do with students; Bim Son Town People's Committee also decided to temporarily suspend teacher Vo Thi Tam from work until there was an official conclusion from the police agency.
