On July 18, information from the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Can Tho City said that in 2025, the city will have 30,868/31,083 candidates passing the high school graduation exam, reaching a rate of 99.31%. According to the city's Department of Education and Training, this is a high graduation rate, reflecting the great efforts of the team of managers, teachers, students and the attention and support from local authorities as well as parents.
The whole city has 73 schools and centers with a 100% graduation rate (including 66 public and non-public high schools; 7 vocational education - continuing education centers).
Notably, in the 2025 high school graduation exam, Can Tho City achieved outstanding results with 272 exams achieving a score of 10. Of which, Geography is the subject with the highest score of 10 points with 127 points; followed by Physics and Economic and Legal Education with the number of 10 points of 55 and 35, respectively.
The rest, History has 25 points 10; IT has 7 points 10; Chemistry has 6 points 10; Technology - Agriculture has 5 points 10; Math has 4 points 10; English has 3 points 10; Biology and Chinese have 2 points 10; Technology - Industry has 1 point 10.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City, the above results show that the city has made a breakthrough in the quality of comprehensive education, notably the subjects of Social Sciences (History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education), Physics and Informatics. The diversity of subjects with absolute scores also reflects the effectiveness of the implementation of the new general education program, gradually developing comprehensive capacity and qualities of students according to the educational innovation orientation of the Ministry of Education and Training.
This is also an important premise for Can Tho City to continue to improve the quality of comprehensive education, towards the goal of fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education in the period of 2025-2030.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the national high school graduation exam scores in 2025. Literature is a big highlight of the city. With an average score of 7.259, Can Tho ranked 5th out of 34 provinces and cities with the highest Literature exam scores in the country.
