On August 11, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee informed that the province has just issued a framework plan for the 2026-2027 school year for preschool education, general education and continuing education in the area.
Accordingly, 1st, 9th and 12th grade students will return to school from August 24th. The remaining grades will return to school from August 28th. The opening ceremony will be held on September 5th.
Semester I ends before January 18, 2027. The entire program is completed before May 31, 2027, ensuring 35 weeks of actual study, including 18 weeks of semester I and 17 weeks of semester II.
For institutions organizing Vietnamese language teaching for ethnic minority children before entering grade 1, the Department of Education and Training guides the teaching time according to Circular No. 23 of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The provincial-level excellent secondary and high school student selection exam will be completed before March 31, 2027. The consideration of recognizing the completion of the primary and secondary school programs will be carried out before June 30, 2027.
The 2027 high school graduation exam is expected to take place on June 11 and 12, 2027. Other national-level exams are implemented according to the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Enrollment in the first grades of the 2027-2028 school year will be completed before July 31, 2027.
Holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code. Teachers are arranged for annual leave during summer vacations or interspersed at other times, in accordance with the characteristics and plans of each unit.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training is assigned to decide on allowing students to take leave from school when the weather is too harsh and natural disasters occur; and at the same time arrange make-up classes and teachers' leave schedules.
The Department of Education and Training is responsible for implementing the information regime with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Provincial People's Committee.
