Lao Cai has more than 98% of high school graduation candidates

Lao Cai - The province achieved a high school graduation rate of 98.77% in 2026, and also recorded 142 exam papers scoring 10 points and one student ranked second nationwide.

According to a preliminary report from the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Education and Training, the 2026 high school graduation exam had 18,908 candidates eligible for graduation recognition. Of which, 18,676 candidates were recognized for graduation, reaching a rate of 98.77%; and 232 candidates were not yet recognized for graduation.

Specifically, the high school block achieved a graduation rate of 99.37%, with 103 candidates not yet recognized for graduation. The continuing education block achieved 95.07%, and 129 candidates were not yet recognized.

The average score of exam subjects in the whole province reached 5.46 points. Some subjects with high average scores include Agricultural Technology reaching 6.56 points, Chemistry 6.23 points, Industrial Technology 6.20 points, Literature 6.17 points and History 5.98 points.

This year's exam recorded many outstanding results. Notably, a student of Nguyen Tat Thanh Specialized High School achieved a total score of 38.25/40, ranking second nationwide.

The whole province has 142 exam papers scoring 10 points, of which History has 71 papers, Math has 60 papers. At the same time, there are 3 candidates scoring 10 points in two exam subjects.

In addition, the whole province had 13 exam papers with failing scores in Literature, Mathematics, English, Physics and Geography.

According to preliminary statistics, many high schools in the area achieved a 100% graduation rate, typically Nguyen Hue High School, Lao Cai High School, Lao Cai Specialized High School, Nguyen Tat Thanh Specialized High School, Bat Xat High School No. 1, Tran Phu High School, Van Ban High School No. 2, along with many ethnic minority boarding schools and vocational education - continuing education centers.

The results of the exam continue to reflect the quality of education in Lao Cai province, and at the same time show the efforts of the Department of Education and Training, schools, teachers, students and the coordination of levels and sectors in organizing safe, serious, and regulated review and exam.
