On July 1, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Military Command of Trang Bom Ward, Dong Nai City, said that people had contacted to provide information related to the discovery of many memorabilia and photos in martyrs' graves that had not been identified.
Previously, on June 30, during the excavation of graves, taking samples of martyrs' remains for DNA testing to identify martyrs at Trang Bom Martyrs' Cemetery, functional forces found the keepsakes of an unidentified martyr at lot D, row of graves 8, grave number 00497.
The martyr's keepsakes found include: a large belt, a small belt, a water bottle, with the words "Duong + Viet" engraved on the bottle, an album with a picture of a young woman and a card of a young man wearing military uniform and a military hat.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Vu Duy Quyen, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Command of Trang Bom Ward, Trang Bom Martyrs' Cemetery currently has nearly 1,300 martyrs' graves, of which 528 graves have no information.
Up to now, functional forces have exhumed 370 graves to take biological samples for 213 cases.
According to the plan, the sampling is expected to be completed on July 10, but functional forces are striving to complete it this week.
