According to the 2026 university and college admission guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, from July 15 to 5 pm on July 21, candidates must pay admission fees online according to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Candidates who are eligible for regional priority policies, priority subjects, and use foreign language certificates for admission consideration must coordinate with receiving points to review regional information and priority subjects, and foreign language certificates of candidates (if any).
Candidates should note that only when candidates successfully pay the fee, the aspirations will be eligible for the system to record and put into the common data processing cycles.
If this step is not completed on time, all previously registered aspirations will be considered invalid and will not be included in the system for admission consideration.
Then, from August 4 to 5 pm on August 9, training institutions will consider admission according to the aspirations registered by candidates, and at the same time process data on the System to determine the highest aspiration that each candidate meets the admission conditions.
The benchmark score results and list of admitted candidates in the first phase will be announced before 5:00 PM on August 13. All admitted candidates, including direct admission, must confirm admission on the System (if they wish to study) before 5:00 PM on August 21.
The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that training institutions are not allowed to require candidates to confirm enrollment or complete enrollment procedures before August 13, and are not allowed to end enrollment confirmation or enrollment before 5 pm on August 21.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that the total number of candidates registered for the 2026 high school graduation exam is 1,241,914, but only about nearly 1,200,000 candidates take the exam).
At the end of the registration deadline for admission aspirations, 87,811 candidates have registered on the General Admissions Support System, an increase of nearly 25,000 candidates compared to 2025 (last year this number was 849,544 candidates).
Thus, there are about more than 325,000 candidates who have not registered for university and college admissions in 2026.
In the 2026 university entrance exam season, candidates can register a maximum of 15 admission aspirations instead of being unlimited as in previous years. Teacher training institutions only consider admission aspirations from 1 to 5; schools in the National Defense and Police sectors implement according to the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security.
All admission aspirations of candidates to training institutions will be processed on the System and each candidate will only be admitted to 1 highest aspiration among the registered aspirations when ensuring admission conditions.
