On January 26, the Hai Phong City Department of Education and Training issued a document guiding educational units in the city to organize Lunar New Year holidays in 2026 for officials, teachers, staff, employees and students.
Accordingly, the entire Hai Phong education sector will have 9-day consecutive Lunar New Year holidays, starting from Saturday, February 14, 2026 (ie, December 27 of the year At Ty) to the end of Sunday, February 22, 2026 (ie, January 6 of the year Binh Ngo).
Teaching and learning activities will return to normal from Monday, February 23, 2026 (January 7th of the Binh Ngo year).
For educational institutions that do not have a fixed holiday on Saturdays every week, the Department of Education and Training requests that it be based on specific programs and plans to proactively arrange time for supplementary work and supplementary study in the second semester of the 2025-2026 school year, ensuring the correct school year time frame.
Along with announcing the specific Tet holiday schedule, the Department of Education and Training requests units to seriously and effectively implement the directing documents of the City Party Committee, City People's Committee, Ministry of Education and Training and the Department on the Lunar New Year holiday work in 2026.
Schools need to promote propaganda and education for students to implement civilized lifestyles, preserve traditional national cultural identity; strictly comply with regulations on social order and safety, traffic safety, management and use of firecrackers; improve skills in preventing and combating accidents, injuries and social evils, especially ensuring safety in cyberspace.
In addition, units must strictly implement security and school safety, coordinate with functional agencies to protect facilities, equipment, and fire and explosion prevention. The Department of Education and Training also noted the importance of paying attention to and organizing appropriate Tet celebrations for students in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to return to their hometowns.
