The University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has just announced the benchmark for 2025.
According to the school's announcement, the benchmark scores of the two majors of English Pedagogy and Chinese Pedagogy have an absolute high benchmark score of 30/30, and at the same time require a wish set 1.
In addition, there are also opinions about why the admission score for Literature in this year's high school graduation exam is not 10 points, so the admission score is 30/30.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Ha Le Kim Anh, Vice Principal of the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, although there are no scores in Literature in the 10 subjects of the high school graduation exam, the standard score is still absolutely high due to the plus points, partly due to the conversion of foreign language certificates.
"C mustants with an IELTS certificate of 7.5 or higher will be converted to an English score of 10. Thus, you have a big advantage. In addition, the school uses many admission combinations to create maximum conditions for candidates, not just a combination of Math, Literature, Foreign Language. That is, the school uses a balance of natural sciences and social sciences.
Candidates with strengths in natural sciences can register for admission using a combination of Math and natural subjects, strong in social sciences, then register for Literature and social subjects. Therefore, they can optimize their abilities and get an absolute high standard score" - Associate Professor, Dr. Ha Le Kim Anh said.
The leaders of the University of Foreign Languages affirmed that the school's quota for allocating these two majors is in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. However, there are 3 main reasons why the school's benchmark scores for the two majors of English and Chinese Education are 30/30 points.
First, the Pedagogical sectors have recently had many preferential policies of the State, so they attract candidates to pay attention. More importantly, many excellent candidates with high exam scores also want to register for pedagogical majors and become teachers in the future.
Second, for many years now, the majors of English Pedagogy, Chinese Pedagogy as well as Japanese Pedagogy, Korean Pedagogy have had a large number of registered candidates. In 2025, there will be many more registered candidates.
Third, due to the plus points mechanism of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates with the Provincial Excellent Student Award and the National University Olympia High School Competition will have plus points.
"Currently, there is a shortage of foreign language teachers across the country, especially English teachers, so many good students registering is a good sign.
In the coming time, when Vietnam implements the project to make English the second language in universities, the University of Foreign Languages also hopes that the Ministry of Education and Training will increase the quota for foreign language pedagogical majors, especially English Pedagogy to create more opportunities for candidates" - Associate Professor, Dr. Ha Le Kim Anh emphasized.
