Recently, the People's Committee of Lang Son province issued a document on exempting tuition fees for students affected by storm No. 3.
The province also said that Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, assigned the Department of Education and Training to advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council to issue a Resolution on not collecting tuition fees according to Resolution 143/NQ-CP dated September 17, 2024 of the Government.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested relevant units to carefully review students affected by storm No. 3 to ensure compliance with policies.
The tuition exemption support period is 2 months in the 2024-2025 school year.
Previously, Typhoon No. 3 Yagi and floods caused damage of about 900 billion VND to Lang Son province. According to statistics, there were 13 casualties, including 3 deaths, and 12,454 households were damaged.
In addition, 80 other structures such as the commune police headquarters, village cultural house, school and commune post office were also damaged.
In agriculture, over 8,172 hectares of rice, flower crops, and fruit trees were damaged. In forestry, over 18,445 hectares of forest trees were damaged. In industry, 150 high-voltage and low-voltage power poles were broken, mainly low-voltage poles; some communication poles were affected...
