Parents are happy
In recent days, the information that the Politburo has decided to exempt all tuition fees for students from preschool to high school in public schools nationwide has brought joy to millions of parents and teachers across the country, especially in mountainous areas where life is still difficult.
In mountainous districts such as Van Ho, Moc Chau (Son La), Bat Xat (Lao Cai), Meo Vac (Ha Giang) ... many parents could not hide their joy when knowing that their children would be exempted from tuition fees.
Mr. Hang A To, a parent in Van Ho commune, Van Ho district (Son La), shared: "My family has three children in primary and secondary school, and every year we have to worry about millions of dong in tuition fees.
For the people in the lowlands, it may not be significant, but for the people in the highlands, this is a large amount of money. Now that we have free tuition, we have less burden, and our children have the opportunity to study as much as possible.
Not only Mr. To, but many other families are also happy with this policy.
Ms. Bui Thi Hieu, a single mother in Hoa Binh, emotionally said: "My family has two sons going to school, every year before the new school year, I feel like sitting on a pile of fire, running all the way to pay for my child's tuition. Now the State takes care of my children, I am assured!
The decision to help students in disadvantaged areas
Not only parents, but teachers in mountainous areas are equally happy. Teacher Pham Trung Thong, a primary school teacher in Quynh Nhai district (Son La), shared: "People in the highlands mainly live and earn thanks to little rice fields, little land, and better off, have buffaloes and cows. After more than 20 years of working, I have witnessed many cases of students dropping out of school because their families do not have money to pay tuition. When the tuition exemption policy is implemented, many students will definitely return to school.

Mr. Tran Van Chien, Principal of Na Khoang Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Sop Cop District, Son La Province), said that this policy not only helps students continue their studies but also motivates teachers to stay with the profession for a long time.
Students go to school more, teachers also have more motivation to teach, improving the quality of education in mountainous areas, Mr. Chien emphasized.
Speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Son La province said that the tuition exemption policy not only helps reduce the financial burden on parents but also contributes to reducing the rate of students dropping out of school, especially in mountainous provinces and remote areas.
According to Mr. Hoang, tuition exemption will create motivation for localities, especially the northern mountainous provinces, to invest more in school facilities, improve the quality of education, and help improve the level of education in mountainous areas.

"The tuition exemption policy not only helps children in mountainous areas have the opportunity to study but also shows the Party and State's concern for educational development, especially in areas with many difficulties. Parents are assured that teachers have more motivation to teach, and students have better learning opportunities" - Mr. Hoang said.
