According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of September 16, Branch 2 of Gia Vien Primary School, in Kenh Ga village, continued to be deeply flooded. The school gate area, yard and classrooms on the 1st floor were all flooded, in some places the water was more than 1m deep.


All 250 students of 10 classes at the school point have switched to online classes at home. On the morning of September 16, many teachers and parents took a boat to school to move desks, chairs, and school supplies from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Principal of Gia Vien Primary School - said that this is a school located outside the dike, so it is often flooded. This is the 2nd flood since the beginning of the school year.
This school currently has 250 students with 10 classes, currently 100% of students here have switched to online classes at home. The school has also arranged for officials and teachers to be on duty at the school to monitor the developments of rain and floods and proactively clean up and sanitize classrooms when the water recedes" - Ms. Ha shared.



To proactively respond to heavy rain and flood risks on the Hoang Long and Day rivers, on September 15, Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee issued a document requesting departments, agencies, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards to proactively implement measures to respond to heavy rain, floods, inundation, landslides, tornadoes, lightning, and hail.
