The school said it fully respects and shares with parents who have the conditions to take care of their children at home, if the family finds that bringing students to school is not safe. Parents can proactively let their children take leave from school and notify the homeroom teacher.
For students who are absent from school, the school will support the content of lessons through the LMS system or worksheets so that they can catch up with the progress when returning to school.
For students who still go to class, the school maintains normal teaching, care and semi-boarding activities, and at the same time strengthens safety measures during thunderstorms.
The school hopes that parents will put the safety of their children first, based on the weather situation and the actual conditions of the family to make appropriate decisions.

On the afternoon of September 22, after a prolonged rain that caused many roads to be deeply flooded, making it difficult for students to finish school, Mr. Do Dinh Dao - Principal of Nguyen Huu Tho High School sent a letter to students and parents.
He reminded students to be careful when the weather is bad, pay attention to green trees, canopies and proactively find safe shelter when necessary.
Notably, he advised students not to worry if shoes and clothes are wet after going in the rain. If shoes are wet, students can wear a suitable, clean and safe pair of sandals or shoes to school the next day, without being deducted training points.

On rainy and stormy days, if taking children to school is potentially dangerous, parents can proactively let students take leave from school at home and notify the school.
According to Mr. Huynh Thanh Phu, taking days off in necessary cases will not interrupt students' studies. Teachers will update lessons to the LMS360 system or class groups for students to follow.
The message given by the school is that a lesson can be repaid, a test can be re-taken, but the safety of students cannot be traded.
Schools also request families to closely monitor weather developments, consider actual travel conditions to choose suitable options, especially during times when Ho Chi Minh City has heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requests educational institutions to review roads where students regularly travel with the risk of deep flooding, landslides, and cuts; proactively plan support, pick-up and drop-off, or safe alternative routes.
When heavy rain, floods, landslides or dangerous situations occur, schools do not organize for students to move through unsafe areas. Schools must also check green trees, drainage systems, canopies, fences and electrical systems to promptly handle unsafe risks.
