Son La People's Council has just issued Resolution 158/2026/NQ-HĐND Regulating tuition fees for public preschool and general education; tuition fee support levels for preschool children, students, and learners of general education programs in private and semi-public educational institutions in the province from the 2025-2026 school year.
The subjects of application are preschool children and general education students studying at public preschool and general education institutions that have not self-guaranteed regular expenses; preschool children, students, and learners of general education programs at private and semi-public educational institutions.
The Resolution stipulates tuition fees for public preschool and general education that have not self-sufficiently ensured regular expenses are implemented according to the appendix attached to the resolution. Specific collection levels are determined based on the permanent residence of students. For the continuing education program at the lower and upper secondary levels, the tuition fee level applied is equivalent to the tuition fee level prescribed for public general education.

The regulation of direct tuition fees is the basis for determining the level of state budget subsidies for public educational institutions when implementing the policy of tuition fee exemption for preschool children, general education students and learners of general education programs according to the provisions of law.
The Resolution takes effect from March 9, 2026. At the same time, Resolution No. 89/2024/NQ-HDND dated July 12, 2024 of the People's Council of Son La province on regulations on tuition fees for public preschool and general education in the province from the 2024–2025 school year expires from the date the new resolution takes effect.
