Previously, on April 5, more than 133,489 candidates took the capacity assessment exam phase 1 of 2026 of VNU-HCM in 15 provinces and cities.
Candidates can view the exam results and download the certificate of competency assessment exam results directly at the registration account on the website of the VNU-HCM competency assessment exam.
VNU-HCM noted that exam result certificates will not be sent via email or post, so candidates need to proactively log in to the system to download and store them.
The results of the competency assessment test are recognized and valid for registration for admission to universities and colleges.
Currently, 118 universities and colleges have used the results of the VNU-HCM competency assessment exam for enrollment in 2026.
Candidates who have taken the first phase of the exam can continue to register to participate in the second phase, registering for the exam from April 18 to the end of April 25.
The second phase of the exam is expected to be held on May 24 at 36 units in 9 provinces and cities, including: Hue, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Dong Thap and An Giang.
The results of phase 2 are expected to be announced on June 6.
The structure and content of the 2026 competency assessment exam will continue to be built on the basis of adjustments from 2025, in accordance with the 2018 General Education Program. The exam aims to comprehensively assess the university level learning ability of candidates, while increasing differentiation and ensuring fairness in admissions.
In 2025, the capacity assessment exam of VNU-HCM attracted about 152,000 candidates with more than 223,000 registrations, 111 higher education institutions used the results of this exam for admission consideration, especially in the VNU-HCM system, this method accounted for more than 56% of the total enrollment quota.
