Affirming the leading position in the modern journalism industry
On the side of Lao Dong Newspaper, the working session was attended by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, and the entire collective of officials, reporters, employees, and workers of Lao Dong Newspaper. The working session took place in a direct and online format connected to regional offices.
The report on the results of operations in the period 2021 - 2025 and tasks for 2026 shows that Lao Dong Newspaper has made strong progress. One of them is that in 5 years, officials and reporters have won 138 domestic press awards, 82 international photo awards; including 14 national press awards, 6 Golden Hammer and Sickle awards, 2 Dien Hong awards, 3 Anti-Corruption awards and 110 ministerial and local press awards. In the first 3 months of 2026, the Newspaper won the A Prize of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, 3 press awards at the ministerial, ministerial and local levels.
The social network ecosystem develops strongly every year. Lao Dong Newspaper is also a bright spot in digital transformation. From 2023 to now, the Newspaper has been continuously ranked as excellent, leading in digital transformation.
Regarding social activities, the Golden Heart Charity Fund has operated reputably and persistently for the past 30 years (1996 - 2026) with many activities to help union members, workers, people in difficult circumstances and build many gratitude projects. In 2021, the Golden Heart Charity Fund was awarded the Second-class Labor Medal by the President.
Every year, the Newspaper organizes programs such as "Glory of Vietnam", "Exemplary Enterprises for Workers". These programs have become reputable brands, contributing to enhancing the position of the Trade Union organization.
Maintaining the number 1 position in protecting workers' rights
Lao Dong Newspaper has pioneered the application of Artificial Intelligence. Thanks to technological autonomy, the Newspaper has developed many AI application utilities, published Lao Dong electronic newspaper in 8 languages, and comprehensively applied AI to content management and operations.
In addition to performing well professional content, the Newspaper also completed important tasks assigned by the General Confederation. In which, completing the task of upgrading and operating the Vietnam Trade Union Electronic Information Portal with 6 languages and Chatbot tools for online legal advice for employees using artificial intelligence technology.
In 2026, the goal of Lao Dong Newspaper is to maintain its No. 1 position in protecting workers' rights, striving to win 25 press awards and continue to grow 10% of readership indicators. The newspaper has switched to a completely autonomous model (group 1) and continues to promote the application of AI in all aspects of operation.
In particular, the Newspaper has developed a rich and prominent propaganda outline about the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Recommendations on expanding propaganda on digital platforms and social networks
At the working session, on behalf of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, made a number of proposals and recommendations to the General Confederation. Among them, there is the issue of printing newspapers and a number of proposals on assigning propaganda tasks,...
In particular, implementing Directive 58-CT/TW dated January 10, 2026 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over propaganda, political and ideological education, and law for workers in the new situation, Lao Dong Newspaper proposed that the Standing Committee of the Presidium assign additional tasks for 2026 to the Newspaper to expand propaganda on digital platforms and social networks. Allow the Newspaper to organize a direct legal advice program in Ho Chi Minh City in the spirit of Directive No. 58.
Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan affirmed that Lao Dong Newspaper is one of the leading newspapers of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, always maintaining its position and prestige, being the voice of the Trade Union organization and protecting and caring for union members and workers. The newspaper has many investigative articles about violations in the implementation of regimes and policies for workers. The newspaper has high professional quality, reflected in press awards, especially prestigious awards.
In addition, the Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also highly appreciated the fact that Lao Dong Newspaper is always a pioneer in digital transformation and implements the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus while still ensuring professional quality. The activities behind the newspaper are effective, showing the efforts and dedication of the whole collective and have the power to move the whole society.
On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed his belief that with the solid foundation that has been built, Lao Dong Newspaper will continue to develop in the coming time and maintain its number 1 position in protecting the rights of workers.
