On November 5, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen District (Nghe An) said that in the 2023-2024 school year, the entire district had 15 students who had not yet passed the junior high school graduation exam.
"These students wish to retake the course to be considered for graduation. The district will ask for opinions and, based on the direction of the Department of Education and Training, direct schools to consider arranging for them to retake the 9th grade program to participate in the junior high school graduation exam," said the above leader.
It is known that in the 2023-2024 school year, there are dozens of 9th grade students in Nghe An province who have not passed the junior high school graduation exam.
Currently, many of them wish to retake the course to be considered for secondary school graduation. However, the problem arises when these students study under the old program, while grade 9 students in the 2024-2025 school year are studying the 2018 General Education Program (new program).
Therefore, many secondary schools have difficulty arranging for students who have not passed the secondary school graduation exam to retake the course.
Speaking to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that they had grasped the above information and had directed the Departments of Education and Training, requesting that junior high schools arrange for students who have not yet graduated from junior high school to retake and review knowledge for graduation consideration.
"Our point of view is to create conditions for students to study and review for graduation, ensuring students' rights" - representative of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said.
