On March 27, Mr. Vuong Hong Thai - Vice Chairman of Nam Dan District People's Committee (Nghe An) - said that the district is requesting the District Social Insurance to review the collection of social insurance, health insurance (HI), and unemployment insurance (UI) for teachers and staff in educational institutions in the area to report to the Provincial People's Committee, asking for a handling plan.
Up to now, Nam Dan District Social Insurance has discovered 141 more teachers and school staff owing insurance, but has not yet determined the specific debt amount.
These are workers who signed contracts with the District People's Committee from 2007 to 2013.
Thus, up to now, the whole district of Nam Dan has a total of 452 teachers and school staff identified as having insurance debts.
Previously, in the process of handling retirement records for 3 school administrators, teachers and staff in the area, Nam Dan District Social Insurance discovered that 311 employees of schools owed 1.9 billion VND in insurance. The interest amount for this insurance debt is 2.6 billion VND.
These teachers and staff signed labor contracts with the People's Committee of Nam Dan district from 1998 to 2003. In 2006, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to raise the salary level for these teachers, but it was not until 2012 that Nam Dan District People's Committee decided to collect the salary level for them.
The collection of salary grades without collecting salaries and not notifying about the insurance payable for the difference in salary grades has caused teachers and staff of schools in Nam Dan to fall into a state of insurance debt.
