Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry announced the earliest Lunar New Year holiday schedule for 2025. The school informed all students and trainees that the Lunar New Year holiday will be from January 20, 2025 to February 11, 2025 (ie students will be off from December 21 to January 14). The total holiday will last 23 days.
Compared to last year, the number of school holidays this year is 2 days more. In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry will give students and trainees a holiday from January 29, 2024 to February 18, 2024 (ie from December 19 to January 9). The total holiday lasts 21 days.
Dr. Pham Thai Son - Director of Admissions and Communications Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade said that on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, the school will give students 28 days off, equal to the number of days off in 2024.
Students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade will start their break from January 20, 2025 to February 16, 2025 (ie December 21 to January 19). "The long Tet holiday is to help students, staff, lecturers, employees and workers have time to rest and restore their working capacity," Mr. Son shared.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) has a 3-week Tet holiday, from January 20, 2025 to February 9, 2025 (ie December 21 to January 12).
The school added that, depending on the exam schedule, students who finish their exams before January 20 will have a few days off early. However, on the weekend, students usually still have some subjects, so it is possible that some students still have exams scheduled for the weekend.
According to the 2024-2025 school year schedule issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee at the beginning of the new school year, students in the city are expected to have Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 from January 25, 2025 to February 2, 2025 (ie December 26 to January 5).
Thus, during the upcoming Lunar New Year, students in Ho Chi Minh City will have 9 days off. Compared to 2024, the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 for students in Ho Chi Minh City will be shorter.
Last year, students had Tet holiday from February 5, 2024 (the 26th day of the 12th lunar month) to February 18, 2024 (the 9th day of the 1st lunar month), equivalent to 14 days. If counting the days off (Saturday and Sunday) before Tet holiday, students had a total of 16 days off.
The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs submitted to the Prime Minister a plan for a 9-day Tet holiday, from December 26 to January 5 (January 25 to February 2, 2025). This option was selected based on the opinions and synthesis of 16 ministries and sectors. 13/13 ministries and sectors agreed; 3 agencies did not have opinions on the option proposed by the drafting agency.
If this plan is approved by the Prime Minister, on Lunar New Year 2025, officials, civil servants and public employees will have 9 consecutive days off.
