Whether in urban or mountainous areas, the digital transformation movement is being implemented synchronously by the teaching staff. The entire industry has made changes to create the best learning environment, equipping learners with skills to be ready to adapt in the digital age.

Digital transformation for students to benefit

Every IT class for students in grades 3, 4, and 5 at Trung Yen Primary School (Hanoi) is always filled with joy and laughter. Instead of reading and copying dry knowledge from textbooks like before, students are proficient in using electronic textbooks, participating in games and activities right in the classroom. Although the students are very young, they are completely in control of acquiring knowledge and proficient in using information technology.

To have such a class, it is the effort of young teacher Tran Hong Quan - IT teacher, Trung Yen Primary School.

With his strength in information technology, Mr. Quan designed the e-book software Computer Science Guide for grades 3, 4, 5; used Paled software in activities; organized games to excite students in each lesson through software Quizizz, Kahoot!, Quizlet,...

“Thanks to digital transformation, students can also apply it in other subjects. For example, with Technology, students can make their own videos about the growth process of plants,... The important thing is that teachers must guide students to get acquainted with and approach technology effectively,” Mr. Quan shared.

In addition, Mr. Quan has built Microsoft Teams software, created accounts for 100% of teachers, staff and students, helping the school save 114,000,000 VND during the COVID-19 pandemic; Built an educational email system with the domain name @thtrungyen.edu.vn with a memory of up to 600 terabytes for school staff, teachers, etc.

“After learning and mastering the software technology, I will instruct other teachers in the school. However, for digital transformation to be effective, each teacher also needs to improve their own knowledge and constantly improve their professional capacity,” Mr. Quan shared.

Not only in big cities, technology is being applied to change the lives of students in mountainous areas. A typical example is the project "Bringing English to Meo Vac" of Marie Curie School (Hanoi).

With a duration of 3 periods/week/class x 35 weeks of actual study x 76 classes, the Marie Curie system has supported online English teaching for all grade 3 students of schools in Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province from the 2022-2023 school year and maintained until now with the promise of Principal Nguyen Xuan Khang: "We continue to teach this group of students for 2 more years, until they finish primary school".

Digital transformation creates positive signals in university governance

At the university level, digital transformation is thoroughly applied not only in teaching but also in administration. A typical example is the KPIs-3Ps digital university administration model, applying software to all school activities at the University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

“The application of digital models is associated with the strategy of saving and reducing training costs for the country, minimizing the “brain drain and monetary drain” for the country” - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Truc Le, Chairman of the Council of the University of Economics, assessed.

According to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son, no industry is as strongly affected and impacted by digital transformation and artificial intelligence as the education industry, but no industry benefits from digital transformation like education.

The entire industry has completed the construction of 100% of the industry's database and successfully connected with national databases.

Since 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training has built and put into operation the higher education database system (HEMIS), which synthesizes data information from all universities, colleges, and academies nationwide, including data groups on staff, learners, training programs, training majors, facilities, financial assets, etc.

"How can digital transformation, digital technology application, and artificial intelligence application really impact and create changes in teaching and learning productivity; eliminate intermediate stages and levels in education and training activities..." - he expressed his wish and believed that to carry out digital transformation, we must start with innovation in thinking, methods, and ways of managing education, school administration, and teaching.

Besides digital transformation, the education sector, especially higher education, has the important task of training high-quality human resources for the technology and digital transformation fields.

According to the Deputy Minister, if digital transformation is more effective and drastic, the education sector will create conditions to attract foreign corporations to invest, thereby promoting the country's development.
