At the Nguyen Du Secondary School exam score (District 1), many older candidates have left many impressions when they persistently pursued the high school graduation exam, despite the obstacles of age and circumstances.
Mr. T (50 years old, District 10) is one of the older candidates who attracted attention in this year's exam. This is the third time he has registered for the exam.
When asked about the reason for continuing to compete at this age, Mr. T laughed and shared: "Just playing like that, that's nothing. No one forces me to try my best."
This student said that he mainly self-study, occasionally returning to his old school to review. With this morning's Literature exam, Mr. T shared that he liked the part most related to the short story "A Phu and his wife" and expected to get about 6 - 7 points.
Also at this test site, Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Loan (41 years old, Binh Tan district) attracted attention when appearing with a calm appearance and clear determination. She is a staff member at a kindergarten. This exam is a stepping stone for Ms. Loan to complete her work experience and at the same time, pursue a career in preschool education.
"I took the first exam in 2004, the second exam was 10 years later. Now that we have arranged it, we are determined to continue taking the exam" - Ms. Loan shared.
Ms. Loan reviewed at a center in Binh Tan district and said that reviewing is not too difficult thanks to the foundation in advance. Although she did not pass the Literature exam this morning, she still did the test with a gentle mindset and hoped to get an average score, qualified to meet the requirements of her work.
Ms. Loan has two young children. She said that the children still did not fully understand why their mother took the exam, but the family still supported her learning journey.
In the Literature exam under the 2006 General Education Program, the social commentary section asked candidates to discuss the necessity of renewing themselves in the current context, Ms. Loan said that this is a topic that is close to many young people.
"Now young people dare to think and dare to do. Even though I am old, I can still study, I can still do it if I really want to" - Ms. Loan expressed.
