On November 16-17, the 23rd "Intercollegiate International Arbitration & Negotiation Competition" (INC) Asia-Pacific region was held at Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan.
INC is one of the most prestigious playgrounds for international students with a passion for pursuing a career in law. After two intense rounds, in which the main parts include Commercial Arbitration and Negotiation on International Procedural Law, the Australian national team won the championship in the INC Asia-Pacific competition in 2024, with convincing victories in all categories.

This is the first time in history that the Australian team has topped all categories: Overall First Prize (International Litigation & Contract Law), Commercial Arbitration First Prize (English), International Negotiation First Prize (English) and Team First Prize. This is also the first time the Australian team has returned to the top position after 6 competitions, since 2018.
Notably, the Australian national team participating in the 2024 exam includes a Vietnamese female student - Bui Vu Yen Nhi, currently studying in her fourth year of Law at the University of Sydney. After a rigorous application and interview process nationwide, in June 2024, Yen Nhi was one of 10 students from the University of Sydney, the Australian National University and Griffith University (Gold Coast) selected to join the Australian national team.
As the Team Secretary, Team Leader for Organization, Logistics and Design, and Team Leader for Commercial Arbitration in this INC, Bui Vu Yen Nhi played an important role in the overall victory of the Australian national team.
With fluent English communication skills, sharp negotiation skills and solid legal knowledge, Yen Nhi and the members of the Australian team have convincingly defeated their opponents. The female student said that the team members have undergone a very serious preparation process. The team spent 5 months studying international law, practicing negotiation skills, getting familiar with hypothetical situations and had 2 weeks of preparation in Japan before the official competition. The team members demonstrated excellent teamwork, confidence and a deep understanding of international law.

With careful preparation and high determination, Bui Vu Yen Nhi created a proud feat when she and the Australian National Law team overcame two intense rounds to win an impressive championship.
Yen Nhi's achievements not only bring pride to herself, her family and her school, but also contribute to showing the image of Vietnamese students at the international level.
