Thanh Hoa - The classroom at the school site was cracked and degraded after the natural disaster, causing about 30 students to move to a location far from home to study temporarily.

On August 21, information from Trung Ly 1 Primary School said that the school has reported and proposed to the People's Committee of Trung Ly commune, Thanh Hoa province to organize a field inspection and assess the safety level of classrooms at the old Tung school point, now belonging to Xa Lao village.

The school also requested the locality to have a plan to ensure safety for students and teachers before the new school year begins.

According to a representative of Trung Ly 1 Primary School, this school site was once affected by floods and landslides, especially the earthquake that occurred in 2025. After that, the walls of the classrooms appeared with more cracks, some cracks became larger and larger but have not been repaired to date.

The new school year is approaching, while the rainy and storm season is also beginning. If it is not inspected, evaluated and there is no timely handling plan, the cracked walls and degradation of the project may continue to develop complicatedly" - Ms. Ngo Thi Lan - Principal of Trung Ly 1 Primary School said.

According to Ms. Lan, the Tung stream branch school is a place to organize teaching for about 30 students from grades 1 to 3. Due to cracks and degradation of the project, before the new school year, the number of students here had to move to another branch school about 5km from home to study temporarily.

Faced with the above situation, Trung Ly 1 Primary School proposed that the People's Committee of Trung Ly commune direct specialized departments to inspect and assess the safety level of the project, and at the same time consider appropriate handling plans.

Mr. Tran Van Thang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Trung Ly commune, Thanh Hoa province, said that the locality has established an inspection team to inspect the current status of the old Tung village school site, and at the same time developed a plan to arrange teaching and learning places before the new school year.

In the immediate future, it is expected that the students at the old Tung village school point will be transferred to study at the Xa Lao village school point, about 5km away. In the long term, after completing the resettlement area in Xa Lao village and the inter-level boarding school in the center of Trung Ly commune, the locality will arrange for students at remote school points, including Xa Lao village, to study here" - Mr. Thang informed.

According to the Chairman of Trung Ly Commune People's Committee, the locality does not have a plan to allocate additional funds to repair the old school site because in the near future students will be transferred to study at inter-level schools.

In addition, after the resettlement area is completed, more than 60 households in Tung village will also be relocated to Xa Lao village to live, thereby making it more convenient for children's education.
