In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc said: 2025 is the 8th year the National Journalism Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" has been held.
The tournament is chaired by the Ministry of Education and Training, in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association.
The Education and Times newspaper was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training as the standing unit to organize the implementation. The National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" honors authors with journalism works written about the cause of education and training. At the same time, it honors outstanding collectives and individuals who have made many contributions to the cause of "growing people".
The Deputy Minister of Information informed that in 2024, the Organizing Committee received more than 800 entries, in 4 types of journals, including: print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio and television; published and broadcast on mass media. The quality of the entries is good, reflecting deeply on the lives of teachers and closely following current issues of the education sector, leaving a deep impression, because there is careful investment in content to form.
Journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam - Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee said that the author participating in the 8th National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" - 2025 is a Vietnamese citizen with press works in the field of education and training published and broadcast on mass media licensed by competent authorities, in accordance with the criteria of the Award.
The author of the contest does not violate the regulations on professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists, does not violate the Press Law and other laws. Authors whose works are participating in the award are not subject to disciplinary action in the form of reprimand or higher or are not subject to disciplinary review or are being investigated by the investigation agency for related violations.
Each author or group of authors submits a maximum of 5 entries to the Award, each press work can be published/published for no more than 5 periods. Members of the Organizing Committee, Jury, and Secretariat are not allowed to register entries to the Award.
Works participating in the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" are works in Vietnamese published and distributed on mass media from September 5, 2024 to September 4, 2025; if published and distributed in multiple periods, there must be at least 2/3 of the works in the above period.
Do not consider works that are awaiting evaluation and conclusion from competent authorities; winning works from the National Press Awards or other specialized national press awards. The entries must ensure that there are no disputes over copyrights.
The closing ceremony and award ceremony will be held on November 15, 2025 (expected).
Award structure:
1 Special Prize received a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training.
The prizes for each category include: 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and some Encouragement prizes.
Award for outstanding character in award-winning work (2 characters).
Prize value:
- Symbol of the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education".
- Certificate of the Ministry of Education and Training
- Cash bonus: Special prize of 60 million VND; First prize of 30 million VND; Second prize of 15 million VND; Third prize: 10 million VND; Encouragement prize of 5 million VND.
The outstanding character in the winning work received the symbol of the Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" and a gift (or cash) worth 10 million VND.
Additional prizes: The Organizing Committee of the prize considers and decides, depending on the actual situation of each year of the tournament.
