On the morning of July 1st, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the high school graduation exam scores for 2026. History subject recorded 2,465 perfect scores, ranking second in all exam subjects, only after Math (4,208 perfect scores).

Compared to 2025, the absolute score of this subject increased by 947 papers, equivalent to an increase of about 62%.
This year, the number of candidates taking the History exam is 56,506. The average score is 6.19, lower than the 6.52 of 2025.
The score level with the most candidates achieving is 7.0. There are 198,665 candidates achieving 7 points or higher, accounting for 35.16%, while 145,633 candidates are below average (under 5 points), equivalent to 25.77%. Only 1 exam paper scored 0 and 7 papers achieved 1 point or less.
The score distribution in 2026 also shows that most candidates achieved from 5 to 8 points, of which the peak score is concentrated around 6.75-7.0 points.



Phu Tho leads the country in average scores for History with 6.69 points, followed by Ninh Binh (6.593), Nghe An (6.523), Hai Phong (6.340) and Ca Mau (6.323).
Meanwhile, Dak Lak has the lowest average score in the country with 5.681 points.
There are 15 provinces and cities with average scores higher than the national average of 6.19 points.
If considering the number of perfect scores, Hanoi leads with 263 exam papers achieving absolute scores, followed by Phu Tho (237), Nghe An (188), Ninh Binh (162) and Hai Phong (157). The next localities in the leading group include Bac Ninh (145), Thanh Hoa (130), Ho Chi Minh City (94), Hung Yen (80) and Quang Ninh (79).



Comparison with 2025 shows that there is a significant change in the leading local group. Last year, Phu Tho was both at the top in terms of average score (7.046 points) and had the most 10s (194 articles), while Hanoi only ranked sixth in terms of 10s with 98 articles.
In 2026, Hanoi rose to lead the country in the number of 10s, nearly 2.7 times higher than the previous year, while Phu Tho maintained the second position but still continued to lead in average scores.
Literature subject has no 10 points in the 2026 high school graduation exam
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, Mathematics and History are the two subjects with the most perfect scores in the 2026 high school graduation exam. Mathematics alone recorded 4,208 perfect scores, the highest among all subjects. History ranked second with 2,465 perfect scores.
Third place is Chemistry with 412 scores. Next is English 311 scores, Physics 189 scores, Biology 129 scores and Geography 56 scores.
The subjects Technology - Agriculture, Technology - Industry and Informatics have 44, 40 and 25 scores of 10 respectively.
While Economics and Law Education only had 2 perfect scores, Literature did not record perfect scores.
