Parents worried
In recent days, information about Hanoi Industrial Meal Service Joint Stock Company related to the case of 300 tons of diseased pork has caused many parents in some schools in Nam Dinh ward, Ninh Binh province to be confused and worried. Especially, when some schools signed contracts with this unit, concerns about the quality of semi-boarding meals for students increased even more.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, at Chu Van An Primary School, Nguyen Van Troi Primary School facility 2, Hung Vuong Primary School facility 1 and Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School, many parents with children eating semi-boarding expressed concern about the above information.

Ms. N.Q, whose child is studying at Nguyen Tat Thanh Elementary School, said that her family regularly monitors the school's menu, and when information about unsafe food related to the supplier appeared, she was very worried. By noon on April 1, she breathed a sigh of relief when the school announced the origin of daily food that the supplier took from the old Nam Dinh province, not from Cuong Phat Food Co., Ltd. (a unit related to the case of 300 tons of diseased pork being smuggled into the market and into school kitchens).
School speaks out
At Chu Van An Elementary School, immediately after receiving the above information, the school's Board of Directors organized a meeting of the Standing Committee representing parents on April 1st to promptly inform parents.
Mr. Vu Manh Truong - Deputy Head of the Parents' Representative Board of the school expressed: "After receiving the school's notice, I arranged time to go to school immediately. My family has 2 children studying at school and eating semi-boarding, I really want to grasp accurate information. When the school informed and confirmed that the food source was pork taken from the old Nam Dinh province by the supplier, I felt somewhat more secure.
The semi-boarding meal process at the school has always been strictly implemented. The school board, representatives of parents and classes have weekly duty schedules to regularly send parents to participate in surprise inspections right from the input food import stage.

Regarding the above information, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha - Principal of Chu Van An Primary School said that currently, the school has 1,666 students, equivalent to 36 classes, with about 1,400 students eating semi-boarding meals every day; on April 1, alone, there are 1,384 students eating semi-boarding meals.
The semi-boarding meal for students is implemented by the school in accordance with regulations. From the beginning of the school year, parents' opinions are collected to find suppliers. The semi-boarding meal fee is 26,000 VND/day/student, including main meals and snacks. The children's menu will be sent to parents. Regarding the food source, it has been committed from the beginning, with vegetables and tubers being seasonal, and meats must be fresh meat, not imported frozen meat. The food processing process is strictly implemented, from the hygiene stage, there are even dish dryers and cooking utensils," Ms. Ha said.
The principal of Chu Van An Elementary School added that the school's kitchen food source is imported daily, including pork taken from the old Nam Dinh province and carefully checked from the input stage.

And at Nguyen Van Troi Elementary School, campus 2, there are 263 students, equivalent to 11 classes, with 235 students eating semi-boarding meals. In the past 3 days, the number of students eating semi-boarding meals is as follows: on March 30, there were 196 students, on March 31, there were 198 students and on April 1, there were 201 students.
According to teacher Ngo Thi Mo - Principal of Nguyen Van Troi Elementary School, as soon as she received the information, the school reviewed the records and held a meeting at 6 am on April 1 with the Board of Directors and homeroom teachers to grasp the situation and provide information to parents. At the school's kitchen, the source of food, which is pork, is guaranteed, and the food delivery and receipt process is strictly checked daily.
