As Lao Dong newspaper reported, in recent days, many parents with children studying at Hoa Binh Kindergarten (Van Lang commune, Thai Nguyen province) have been upset about abnormal signs of food cooked for students.
The incident originated on March 25, when Hoa Binh Kindergarten took meat cooked for students out to grind because of a power outage.
Some parents discovered that the meat had an unusual color and took the food for testing, and the pork was contaminated with E. coli and African swine fever.
On April 1st, Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee issued document No. 3232/UBND-KGVX directing to strengthen food safety assurance and resolve the incident at Hoa Binh Kindergarten.
In which, requesting the People's Committee of Van Lang commune to direct inspection and clarify the responsibilities of relevant collectives and individuals. Promptly rectify and handle violations (if any).
Proactively provide complete and accurate information to parents and people.
Strengthen propaganda and mobilization of parents and students, stabilize the situation, and prevent the emergence of complicated situations regarding security and order. Summarize and report to the Provincial People's Committee the results of handling the incident.
Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to direct educational institutions to strictly implement regulations on organizing boarding and semi-boarding meals. Strengthen inspection and supervision of school meal organization.
Promptly detect and rectify existing shortcomings and limitations. Guide and direct Hoa Binh Kindergarten to strictly implement regulations on organizing boarding and semi-boarding meals.
Coordinate with the People's Committee of Van Lang commune to stabilize the situation and ensure normal teaching and learning activities.
The Department of Health presides over and coordinates with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and related units to strengthen food safety management. Monitor and urge the testing of food samples related to the incident at Hoa Binh Kindergarten, based on the test results, promptly handle according to regulations.
