This poses a potential risk of being taken advantage of for fraud. Mr. L said that the disclosure of personal identification numbers - information associated with each student's life - is a matter of concern in the context of increasingly sophisticated high-tech crimes.
If the bad guys get detailed information about the students and then make fake phone calls to scam, parents can easily trust them.
In addition, personal data can be advertised for sale online and exploited for a long time.
Parents L recommended that the relevant agencies study other options such as: Spending time in parent meetings at the beginning of the year to review student information; upgrading the application of electronic transcripts for parents to check and edit themselves; not posting a list of classes with personal information.
Regarding the above issue, the Department of Culture - Social Affairs of Bac Nha Trang Ward said that the disclosure of the list of students, including the school with personal identification numbers, is carried out according to the Plan of the People's Committee of Nha Trang City (old).
This is a regulation to ensure accuracy in the enrollment process for the 2025-2026 school year.
The Department acknowledged the parents' feedback and said that it will coordinate with the Ward Police and related units to study and propose more appropriate forms of publicity.
Thereby, both ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing the risk of disclosure of students' personal information.
