The Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province has just reported on the results of one year of implementing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, the province is one of the localities that early implemented AI education, piloted at 118 educational institutions.
By the end of July 2026, departments and sectors have advised on completing 13 out of 27 breakthrough education tasks, reaching 48.14%. The remaining tasks will continue to be implemented in 2026 and the following years.
Closely following the Central Government's policy on fundamental, comprehensive and breakthrough innovation in education and training development, the province has promulgated and implemented 10 typical policies in the field of education, suitable to the authority, development conditions and resource balance capacity of the locality.
10 specific and typical education policies with a support scale of over 539,000 learners and teachers, with a total estimated implementation cost of nearly 800 billion VND/school year.
Policies include supporting free milk at school for preschool children and elementary school students; providing free textbooks for general education students and continuing education students; supporting lunch for preschool children and elementary school students in ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas, island communes and vulnerable groups.
Policies to support the organization of teaching and caring for preschool children during the summer; support for centralized accommodation and transportation for students and trainees in difficult circumstances; continue to assist children and students who do not have a source of nurturing until they complete their first university degree.
Management staff, teachers, and staff of private and semi-public kindergartens are supported with 100% of the cost of compulsory insurance...
Along with perfecting policies, Quang Ninh continues to arrange the public education network. After arrangement, the whole province will have 35 units directly under the Department of Education and Training and 290 public education institutions directly under the commune-level People's Committee; a reduction of 280 out of a total of 570 educational institutions, equivalent to 44.12%.
The rate of schools meeting national standards reached 316 out of 345 schools, equivalent to 91.6%; 100% of classrooms are solidified. Six schools in six border communes have been started, expected to be put into use in September 2026.
In the field of digital transformation, 100% of educational institutions use online management software and conduct online entrance exams. The province is piloting artificial intelligence education at 118 educational institutions.
In the last 6 months of 2026, Quang Ninh Education sector will focus on preparing conditions for the new school year, recruiting and arranging teachers, completing school projects, purchasing textbooks; researching and deploying rooftop solar power, equipping air conditioning and transporting students by electric bus in some areas.
