On October 20, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Ba Don commune (Quang Tri province) said that the locality has received nearly 1 billion VND from the budget allocated to pay salaries for contract teachers according to Decree 111.
There are 23 teachers who will be paid salaries for the months of June, July and August 2025 with a total amount of nearly 550 million VND. The Commune People's Committee has handed over all funds to the schools to make payments in accordance with regulations.
Principal of Quang Son Secondary School (Nam Ba Don Commune) Nguyen Xuan Thu confirmed that the school has received salary funds from contract teachers according to Decree 111, including the salaries for June, July and August that Lao Dong Newspaper had reported.
Currently, the entire amount has been transferred to each teacher according to the contract.
A teacher who once reported to Lao Dong Newspaper also confirmed that after reporting the information, the schools had completed the payment of salaries for the 3 months of summer in accordance with the signed contract.
Previously, the Department of Finance of Quang Tri province said that the Provincial People's Committee had decided to deduct from the source of "Labration contract costs according to Decree 111/2022/ND-CP" in the 2025 budget estimate to provide funding for the People's Committees of communes and wards to pay salaries and support the activities of contract teachers teaching at public preschools and general schools.
The total budget allocated in the whole province is 37.2 billion VND. Localities are responsible for managing and using capital for the right purposes, while implementing financial settlement according to regulations.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, many teachers in Nam Ba Don and Nam Gianh communes have reported to Lao Dong Newspaper that they have not been paid their salaries according to their contracts. Mr. S, a teacher at a secondary school, said that his contract is valid from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025, stipulating that salary is paid at the beginning or end of the month.
According to the reflection, in the 2023 - 2024 school year, teachers will still be paid summer salary according to regulations. However, from June 2025 to now, many people have not received their summer salary even though they have completed their teaching tasks, participated in training, considered exams, judged exams and other professional work.
The delay in paying salaries has caused many difficulties for teachers' lives, especially in the context of high prices and limited income. Many opinions hope that the authorities will soon resolve the issue to ensure the rights and stabilize the lives of teachers.
