On the morning of July 6, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Department of Education and Training said that regarding this incident, the department has reviewed and grasped the information.
Accordingly, through review, it was found that the exam room belonged to the exam site at Ha Tinh Specialized High School.
This is an exam room with 24 candidates, of which 2 are exempt from the exam because they are eligible for exemption according to regulations, including a student who won a consolation prize (honorary) at the Asia-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad and a student from the Physics Olympiad qualifying team.
Among the 22 candidates taking the exam, only 3 came from schools outside Ha Tinh Specialized High School, the rest are all students of the school, mainly belonging to specialized mathematics classes 1, specialized mathematics 2 and natural science classes.
As a result, 15 students achieved a score of 10; the remaining 7 students all achieved scores from 9 to 9.75 in mathematics.
According to Mr. Cuong, in this exam room, most of them are students who are very strong in mathematics, so achieving many perfect scores like this is normal.
These specialized math candidates did not get a score of 10 in math in the high school graduation exam, which is strange," Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong shared.
Explaining why many candidates of the specialized math class appeared in the same exam room, Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong said that the room arrangement was carried out using software from the Ministry of Education and Training.
Specifically, the registration number is typed according to each exam site and the priority system arranges candidates with the same elective subject combination in one room to limit the need to move between rooms during the exam. Therefore, students in the same class or same natural science subject group can be arranged to take the exam together.
According to the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam, Ha Tinh province has 167 exam papers achieving a score of 10 in Mathematics. In which, Ha Tinh Specialized High School alone has 79 papers achieving a score of 10.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Department of Education and Training affirmed that the above-mentioned exam room had many candidates achieving a score of 10 in mathematics, and through review, no unusual signs have been detected.
