On the morning of June 27, nearly 70,000 candidates in Nghe An province entered the final round of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam with elective subjects.
According to statistics from the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, among the optional subjects, the group of social subjects continues to dominate. Geography has 18,273 registered candidates, History has 17,058 candidates and Economic - Legal Education has 12,270 candidates.
In the natural subject group, the number of candidates taking the exam is significantly lower. Physics recorded 9,754 candidates, Chemistry 8,521 candidates, Foreign Language 8,257 candidates and Biology only 3,460 candidates took the exam. New subjects such as Agricultural Technology have 694 registered candidates, Industrial Technology 130 candidates and IT 231 candidates.

For freelance candidates, social subjects are also the most chosen, with more than 300 registrations for the History and Geography exam. The subjects of Physics and Chemistry have nearly 300 candidates, Foreign Languages 228 candidates, Biology 141 candidates and Civic Education 96 candidates registered.
According to regulations, candidates start their test at 6:35 am, each subject lasts 50 minutes. Candidates taking the two subjects in the combined exam will have a 15-minute break between subjects. In particular, this year, candidates taking different elective subjects are arranged in the same exam room. Free candidates who only take part in some component subjects will have to submit their test and move to the waiting room, waiting until the end of all candidates' test time to leave the exam score.
At many exam locations in Vinh City, the supervisors have completed the drawing and disseminated exam regulations to candidates. During the competition, candidates are reminded to strictly comply with regulations and maintain order, especially during the waiting room stay.
This year's high school graduation exam reduces the number of exam sessions from 4 to 3 and reduces the number of exam subjects from 6 to 4 subjects. In addition to the two compulsory subjects of Math and Literature, candidates can choose 2 subjects from the natural and social subjects.
