Early Admission Scores for Hot Majors Reach New Heights
In 2024, the fields of Information Technology continue to lead the pack in terms of early admission scores. Specifically, the University of Natural Sciences (Vietnam National University, HCMC) requires a perfect score of 10/10 for the Computer Science major under the priority admission method. Under the admission method using scores from the assessment of learning ability, the Computer Science major at the same university also requires a score of 1,052/1,200, a 17-point increase from 2023.
Under the talent admission method, the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence majors at the Hanoi University of Technology require a score of 104.58/110. For the 2024 high school graduation exam, the majors in the field of Information Technology, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc., are expected to require a score of 28 points or higher, meaning that students must achieve an average of 9 points or higher per subject to pass.
Another major that has maintained its appeal in recent years is Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
For early admission methods, the Logistics and Supply Chain Management major at many universities also requires high scores. For example, the University of Transport requires a score of 28.8/30 under the combined admission method, while the University of Economics requires a score of 28.31/30 under the combined admission method.
The Multimedia Communications major has consistently ranked among the top majors with the highest admission scores. In 2024, this major also requires high scores under early admission methods. The Multimedia Communications major at the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology requires a score of 28/30 under the combined admission method. The same major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, HCMC) requires a score of 29/30 under the priority admission method for excellent students.
In addition, majors such as Marketing, Korean Language, etc. also require high scores under early admission methods.
Hot Majors Expected to Remain at the Top
Along with the high interest from students, many teachers predict that hot majors will continue to be in high demand, and scores may even increase slightly due to the increase in high school graduation exam scores in 2024.
According to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong Hue, Deputy Director of the Admissions Office at the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, the admission scores for the Information Technology major are expected to remain at the top. "We are currently living in the 4.0 era, and all aspects of life require the use of information technology. Therefore, the demand for human resources in this field is very high, especially for those with high qualifications. The popularity of this major has not shown any signs of decline. Not only at the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, but also at all universities that offer Information Technology programs, the admission scores for these majors have consistently ranked at the top in recent years, and this year may be no exception," Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong Hue said.
Regarding the Marketing major, many teachers predict that admission scores for this major will not decrease but may even increase slightly due to its growing popularity. "Marketing is a major of the present and future. In the current context of digital transformation, Marketing, especially digital Marketing, will have a high demand for human resources in the coming years, especially for those with high qualifications. This year, the Digital Marketing major at the Banking Academy also attracted a lot of attention from students, with admission scores reaching 39.9/40 under the admission method using high school graduation exam scores," said Dr. Tran Manh Ha, Director of the Admissions Office at the Banking Academy.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung, Deputy Director of the Admissions Office at the University of Commerce, "Marketing has been a very popular major at the University of Commerce for many years, with high admission scores. With the growing demand for human resources in Marketing, this major will remain hot this year. The admission scores for the Marketing major at the University of Commerce are expected to be similar to those of 2023 or increase/decrease by 0.25 points."
